Darlene brings to Theia over 20 years of geriatric experience with a specific interest on Alzheimer's Disease, having specialized in work with seniors as well as caregivers.

For ten years, she was Executive Director of the Senior Care Center of Hunterdon Healthcare, managing a staff of licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants and home health aides who directly contributed to the center’s geriatric services.  Darlene also implemented training programs for staff and the center’s support groups for family caregivers.

Prior to Hunterdon Healthcare, Darlene served as geriatric medical liaison for a Manhattan-based private healthcare agency, overseeing seven states along the East Coast.

She is an active member of the American Geriatric Society, Alzheimer's Association - NJ Chapter, National Alliance for Caregiving, The Gerontological Society of America and the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

Darlene has a Bachelors of Science degree from Kean University, speaks three languages, and is currently completing a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Geriatrics and Aging Services.  Having the opportunity to care for her own grandmother after an illness late in her life had a profound influence on Darlene’s commitment to eldercare and to Theia’s core value of empathy.

She lives in New Jersey with her family.
